SUPERFAIL

Your village must have Dark Alleys to enable SUPERFAIL in the Party House.

You walk up to a group of Ninja cheering and shooting dice as one of them shouts ever-increasing numbers - then suddenly, a cry of anguish as the crowd yells back "FAIL!". One stands above the rest, nervously looking first at the shooters, then a countdown clock ticking away..

FAIL is the name of the game. Do well enough, and you can win Ryo and Resource Points. If you can manage to hold the high score for six hours, you win the Grand Prize. It brings with it a unique reward: a one-time high-stakes game versus The Rack. Ooo.

Rules

- You are trying to get as many points as you can in 11 Rolls
- When you Roll, you must score at least one die before you can Keep Going
- Dice order does not matter (123512 is the same as 112235)
- You cannot partially score numbers (have two ones? if score ones, must score both)
- If you cannot score any dice, you FAIL, and get zero points for this Roll
- If you FAIL twice in a row, you lose the rest of your Rolls
- Scored dice are 'locked'. Locked dice cannot be used to score further points
- If all of your dice are scored, you may 'unlock' all of your dice and Keep Going
- If you have 300+ points in a Roll, you can Bank them, and start fresh with your next Roll
- Pot is split at the six hour High Score mark. Grand Prize gets half the Ryo AND RP. Rest is split amongst those in the Share evenly based the payment type used.

Scoring

- One 1: 100 points
- One 5: 50 points
- Three 1s: 1100 points
- Three 2/3/4/5/6s: 200/300/400/500/600 points
- Straight (123456): 1500 points
- Three Pair (113344, 551155, etc): 1500 points
- Six unlocked dice that score no other points: 500 points

Four 1s/2s/etc. is x2 the listed score. Five is x4, Six is x8.

Scoring is for a single Roll. For example, if you score three 1s on your first Roll, then reroll the other three dice and get a fourth 1, that is 1100+100, not 1100x2.

Strategy

This game plays like Farkle.

The main objective for most players is the FAILure trophy, gotten by either holding the high score for 15 minutes, or getting into the Share 11 times. Strategies for the two differ, but there is one common rule: if you can lock all 6 dice in a single roll, that is always the best option, since the next roll will unlock and reroll them. (Rolling all 6 dice can never Fail. Even if you get nothing, that's still worth 500 points if you had all 6 dice unlocked. At worst, you'll get a single 5, worth 50 points. Anything you could get with 1 to 5 unlocked dice, you have a better chance of getting with 6, and you also get a chance at the combinations that are only available on 6 dice.)

If you're trying to get in the Share, alternate between Share attempts and just-enough-to-Bank attempts. That way, you might Fail attempts 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 but you will at least probably not Superfail attempts 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10. Only take single or double 5s if you have to, or if you will have less than 3 dice unlocked for your next roll (that is, you want to maximize your chances of getting three-of-a-kinds or better - but once you've locked 4 or 5 dice anyway, you want to score the rest of your dice so you can unlock them all). The odds are strongly against you on any single Attempt, but this will give you better odds than going for broke on attempts 1 and 2 (and not getting to 3).

If you're trying to get the high score, Bank any roll that reaches 2000+ or that would otherwise have only 1 die to reroll. (Even a low contributing roll is better than a Fail, and each time you roll with 5 locked 5 dice, you have a 2/3rds chance of Failing.) Also, avoid taking single or double 5s if you have another choice. Again, this will usually not work, but it will at least give you a slim chance.

ULTRAFAIL

(You won SUPERFAIL, and so you get this special scene!)

You sit across from The Rack, ready to roll.

"One roll. High score wins. If you win, I'll give you what you want. And I know what you want."

"You want to know who you are. And I have the answer."

She hikes up a sleeve so she can roll the dice more freely, and on her arm, you see a brand - a shifting mark in the shape of a skull.

"Creepy, huh? You'll get used to it- whoops, spoilers. At least you are looking at my arm for a change, right?"

"Anyway, if I win, I'll still give you a consolation prize - we'll make sure you had some real good TACO luck this morning."

"Enough talk - let's roll."

Roll >

(If someone wins, could they post the exact rolls, please? The Rack gets all 1s, which beats your score.)

"I guess low is a good thing, now and again." She smiles wryly.

"Well, maybe another time - not that this will turn out any differently. I guess I'm not supposed to say anything yet."

She slaps you in a PG-13 place. "Get on outta here, you. Catch me on the Other Side."

You got +3000 Stamina!
