weird. was hanging out with him for the eye of the strom, and had him with me for that quest. yet he was not disabled.
once i finished, I took him on a wasteland mission. and he worked. he is a viable ally for the wasteland!

I suppose its because the character he's based off of died doing a "wasteland" mission, so out of respect, he can run wastelands too. you'd have to go out of your way to test his friends as well.

Actually, it's because he's a R00t Ally, and R00t Allies can go on all mission types.

Smokey the Bear is now Smokey the Bear Lvl. 2!
"You know what is the most flattering?" Smokey puffs. "NOT SMOKING." He sets himself on fire!

Here's his level 2 Up text. I would put it in myself, but I get the feeling I'd break something.
