If you retest, since it "remembers your last roll", if the new roll is lower, do you still have to take it, or can you ditch it, and use the old roll instead?
Saw a post on the BvS forums that was really similar to what I was thinking about, and seems to make the most sense of anything I can think of. For MoD and PT, there is likely a type of point threshold that you have to reach before you get either one.
For example -
First Place: 10 points
Second Place: 8 points
Third Place: 6 points
Fourth Place: 4 points
Fifth Place: 2 points
Anything lower: 1 point
Threshold: 22 points gets you Master of Disguise or Prime Target. I picked 22 points because it seems more likely as double of 11, and McM focuses on that whole 11 thing, y'know. :)
As time passes and you compete in the Cosplay and VGT, you'll gain invisible 'points' towards the threshold. Once you gain enough points and pass the threshold, you gain the permanent effect. None of this is proven, but based on my own experiences and from what I've read of others, it seems to come the closest to being the most accurate.
Typo: important danger - the most popular of each piece - and the most popular combo - loose their bonus.
Also, why don't you add that you can win Master of Disguise by winning two tourneys or participating in a number of undetermined contests to the text?
what does the master of disguise even do? I don't see any effects listed. Prime target seems to help a lot, whether it's in the rave or extra wandering points.
From what I've seen, MoD allows you to Strut your Stuff, +1 str/range per panel when selected. There's more info on it in the Avoid the Squee! section of the main BillyCon page. Pretty much, gives the stat bonuses, but can occasionally toss you into a minigame that, if lost, you lose 2 str, stacking, for the rest of the day.
Edit: Seems it's only one str penalty, and you lose some sleep overnight. But you get some cool and nom, though.
Jasticus: I participated in every cosplay except one, always got second or third place, and do not have MoD.
My alt got MoD after six cosplay losses without ever getting third place or higher.
So no.
