It's much easier to win if you damage the corpses once early in the fight and attack enough to lower their efficiency close to your hp, leaving it at 10-20% when you are about to go below 10 hp. At low hp it takes many attempts just to move onto the same square as the titan, and if you're hit again while you have 10 hp and haven't moved yet, you will probably lose.
